Over the years Dao Tien has welcomed researchers and volunteers from around the globe, from Vietnamese nationals to Europeans, Australians, Singaporeans and Americans. To volunteer on Dao Tien, you have to stay for a minimum of three months and, importantly, this has to be part of your career development, not just a stop gap. At the moment we have Lilli from Germany, with a biology degree and work experience in Indonesian and Costa Rican Wildlife Rescue centres and an Internship with Cologne Zoo. As a volunteer you help with primate husbandry, educational tours, and general maintenance and- if the timing is right- with our post-release tracking team.
We have also just welcomed Researcher Cris who is carrying out research on the personalities of paired gibbons, to identify traits to help with socialisation. Cris has eight years of experience with social behaviours of rescued primates and five years of experience as an environmental and scientific educator.
If you wish to volunteer or carry out research with EAST
Please email enquiries@ go-east.org. We also have suggestions of research topics valuable to our work- in captivity or more field based.
