EAST supports the rescue, rehabilitation and conservation of Asian wildlife species both in situ and ex-situ. In Asia the first project is the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre, founded in 2008 in Cat Tien National Park, South Vietnam. The centre's staff work with the Forestry Protection Department of Vietnam to cease the illegal trade in endangered primates.

Marina Kenyon has worked for Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre, UK, since 1999. Marina first visited Cat Tien in 2001, where she completed 2 years of fieldwork for her PhD in the local forests. She has now returned to help develop the centre and continue research. | |

Four Vietnamese Primate Care Staff work with the primates at Dao Tien: Thanh, Dulme, Ngoan and K Hoai. They all have an excellent knowledge fo the forest, from previously working within, or protecting, this area. This team have all received specialist wildlife care training at Pingtung Rescue Centre, Taiwan. |

Dr. Uli Streicher and Dr John Lewis (International Zoo Veterinary Group) provide veterinary support and consultation. Uli, based in Vietnam, has a specialist knowledge in the primates of Vietnam. | |

Miss Trang is the Dao Tien housekeeper. She is in charge of catering and looking after the centre for staff and volunteers. | |

| The Primate Monitoring Team are experts on wild primates in their natural forest habitat. They have specialised in habituating wild gibbons and radio tracking our released animals. The team is supervised by Vo Thanh Binh (pictured), with support from Khang and Huong. | ||

Nghia, a local ex-hunter, elected to work for Dao Tien and regularly patrols the island, providing him with a long-term sustainable income. He has an exceptional knowledge of the forest and is often spotting released primates. | |
